Chamber Chair appoints two new board members
The Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chair, Tom Rafferty (Verendrye Electric Cooperative), appointed two of three possible new board members to one-year terms as allowed by Chamber bylaws. The third board member will be announced in a future issue of the newsletter. They are Monica Peterson (Enbridge) and Les Knudson (AGT Foods).

Peterson grew up in Mohall, ND, and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota, as well as a senior certified professional designation from the Society of Human Resource Management. Peterson has been in the HR field for 15 years, most recently as an HR Advisor with Enbridge. She is involved with many community organizations, including Souris Valley United Way, Minot Noon Rotary, Minot Curling Club, and Minot Family YMCA, to name a few.

Peterson tries to stay active by utilizing local parks and facilities for running, biking, golfing, cross country skiing, curling, etc. Two of her loves are food and travel, so she always seeks out new foods wherever she goes.

Knudson grew up in Crosby, ND, where he still lives. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Dakota. He owned Superior Grains, a grain and seed business, which he sold to AGT Foods in 2007.

He has worked for AGT Foods since then. In a five-year timeframe, he helped build facilities all over the world for AGT Foods. He was integral in the design and build of the Minot operation, and has served as the manager of the Minot operation since 2012. He is currently Division Head of Ingredients Operations.
