Senator Heidi Heitkamp will visit with small business owners and resource partners at a small business roundtable in Minot, on Tuesday, May 27th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the Education Center of Souris River Telephone, 3615 N. Broadway, Minot.  Senator Heitkamp who serves on the Small Business Committee, will offer an update on committee efforts as well as seek input on small business issues.
 
Mike Gallagher, District Director, for SBA’s North Dakota District Office, will discuss programs and resources available to area businesses.  Steve Dusek, Dakota Certified Development Corporation (DCDC) will visit about crowd funding through Kiva Zip as well as financing using the Community Advantage program.  Tyler Okerlund, Center for Innovation, will discuss the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program which assists in linking small businesses with research and development grants through various federal agencies. 
 
Small business owners, prospective small business owners and small business resources are encouraged to attend and participate in a dialogue on small business issues.  In addition to learning about SBA and other small business programs the Small Business Administration wants to find out about the needs and goals of small businesses in Northwest North Dakota and the Minot area.
