Givebones, a charitable dog collar company, has named the Souris Valley Animal Shelter its official charity for the month of April and will donate 10 percent of all sales to support their rescuing efforts.  The Souris Valley Animal Shelter is dedicated to finding their sheltered animals loving, forever homes.

Over the past 12 months, the Souris Valley Animal Shelter has saved more than 700 animals.  "We focus on finding permanent, loving homes for our animals," said Laura Anderson, Souris Valley Animal Shelter Director.  "We save the animals, care for them and make sure they're healthy, then find them a loving home."

Laura Anderson and her team at the shelter provide a spay & neuter program, humane education, pet therapy and run a volunteer program.  They also use Facebook to help their animals find homes, by posting different dogs and cats each week that are up for adoption at the shelter.  They also advertise 12 adoptable pets in the Minot Daily News each month.

On April 19, they have their "Evening to Paws" Gala, held at the Grand Hotel, to help support their shelter and their animals.  The Gala will be a fun evening filled with silent and live auctions, raffles and a buffet style dinner.

"Souris Valley Animal Shelter provides a great program to find their animals homes," said Givebones Founder, Tricia Bjornson Andrews.  "Their volunteer program educates people as well as supports the animals, and they should be congratulated on their efforts in humane education.  "I'm delighted to be able to giveback to my hometown of Minot and we are thrilled to be able to support Souris Valley Animal Shelter this month," Andrews said.

Givebones is a charitable company committed to giving homeless dogs the life they deserve.  By selling dog collars, Givebones provides funding to animal shelters and rescue groups striving to help dogs in need.  The ultimate goal is to generate awareness and financial support in hopes of reducing the amount of homeless dogs being euthanized each year.
