Broadway Bridge construction in Minot – a 2018 update
The second, and final, season of work on replacing the U.S. 83/Broadway Bridges at the heart of Minot is underway - as the contractor plans on finishing the west bridge by late 2018.

Just like last year, the traffic was reduced to head-to-head flow on one side, the new, east bridge, allowing the public to maintain use of Broadway while demolition of the west bridge is underway. This traffic switch occurred in mid-April, after Lunda Construction finished the railings and safety fencing on the east bridge for safe pedestrian use.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration and the city of Minot, is replacing the existing U.S. 83 Broadway Bridges. The project construction cost was bid by Lunda Construction at nearly $21 million. This project is important to residents in Minot and travelers in north central North Dakota, as the five-lane urban roadway carries approximately 30,000 vehicles per day.

Individuals are reminded to be patient while driving through this area and use appropriate caution in the construction zone. Please follow the posted detour routes to access businesses near the construction.

For the latest on the project, go to the City of Minot’s Facebook page or use the construction update section of the www.minotnd.org website to find photos and information. You can also reach out to Mark Lyman at Odney, the project’s public information officer at mlyman@odney.com or 857-7205.
